Before your mind takes you somewhere I never intended for your imagination to go, let me share with you a few recent turnoffs that now leave an unfavorable impression in my soul (mind, emotions).
Ø I’m NOT impressed if you live in a mansion, and it’s not a h.o.m.e. – haven of manifested empowerment through healing, acute awareness, voluntary self-sacrifice, an eternal perspective, and networking.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with your religious affiliation if your daily life is not a reflection of Christ.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with how many years you’ve been married if it’s not functioning according to Kingdom Purpose through the power of agreement with the purpose, partnership, plan, and the place God has ordained for you to be – collectively.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with all the knowledge you have obtained if the information is mere data between your ears because it has not become revelation for application in your life.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with the car you drive if you are still making monthly payments and the “real owner” can repossess it anytime you miss a few installments.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with the compliments you give me or the kind deeds you perform for me if you aren’t first giving similar words of endearment and acts of kindness to those in your own family.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with the title or position you hold if your character can’t handle the weight of the responsibility that comes with that title or position.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with your potential as much as your accomplishments.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with the number of things you do as much as the number of things you do well.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with lip service that is not authenticated with corresponding actions.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with your college degree(s) or career choice if you’re not living your life in purpose and on purpose.
Ø I’m NOT impressed with who you know if you don’t even know yourself.
Just thought I’d name a few…
It is important to remember the various things that impress us are an indication of the current condition of our souls – thinking patterns, belief systems, and feelings. Therefore while you pause for personal reflection, please ask yourself a few questions…
· Am I making the insignificant too significant in my life?
· Do the things that leave a favorable impact in my mind hold temporal or eternal value?
· Will these things really matter to me five, ten, or even twenty years from now?
· Am I sacrificing too much for too little?
· If I continue on this same path, will I have regrets as I begin my transition from time on earth as I lay at the brink of eternity future?
Because our value systems may be different, I do realize that what is important to me may not be important to you. And that’s OK. However, I am hopeful that by sharing my heart with you, you are provoked to begin re-assessing your own value systems and the things that currently impress you. Just don’t be surprised if your lens prescription drastically changes too!
