Choose to Live! by Julianne Pearson

In the Spring of 1993, I had a Kingdom Instructional Moment with my Grandma Bostick; however, in that season of my life I was spiritually unaware of the Truth that was being deposited into my spirit.  At the time I was dating Al, who is now my husband, and he had done something that caused me great internal turmoil.  On the real, I was quite upset!  As usual I called my Aunt Ollie, my deceased mother’s younger sister, to discuss the matter with her and get her advice.  Since my Grandma Bostick lived with my aunt at the time, she picked up the phone and proceeded to deposit a seed of Truth…

“Jupee, (her nickname for me), you don’t call to talk to me; you call to talk to Ollie and that’s ok.  Because The Lord reveals; The Lord reveals.  And if you knew who you were, you wouldn’t let these boys do this to you.  Now, here’s Ollie.”

My Grandma Bostick didn’t even give me an opportunity to verbally respond.  She simply deposited what God had revealed to her and handed the phone to my Aunt Ollie.  Remember I said in that season of my life, I was spiritually unaware of the Truth that was being deposited.  The Truth I was ignorant (unknowledgeable) of was the purpose for my living.  Therefore without the enlightenment of Truth and the illumination of purpose, I was a dead man walking!

When Purpose is NOT defined, abuse is inevitable.
Dr. Myles Munroe

Unfortunately, for many years I did not give that seed of Truth much thought.  It got buried under the lies of the enemy which included the stresses of life, the worldly pleasures of my own desires, and the opinions and expectations of others.  My life was in an abusive state because I existed in the prison of personal ignorance and darkness which was causing me to journey on a road of death (void of life).
However in the Fall of 2008, God aggressively spoke Truth again into my spirit.  I say aggressively because it had been 15 years since my Grandma Bostick deposited that seed of Truth.  Although others had watered that seed, 2008 was the God-appointed time for a harvest to come forth.  In other words, God had made an investment (purpose) in me, and now He desired to see a return (profit) on that investment.
Therefore, one day during my study time The Holy Spirit said,
Compromise is no longer acceptable.  No longer can you deny yourself!  It’s time to walk in spiritual integrity!

After a time of meditation and personal reflection, I began to realize that a great deal of my frustration in life and with life was because I was merely existing – living a lie, if you will.  I was not walking in spiritual integrity.  I was not being true to myself.  In essence, spiritual integrity is spiritual harmony where there is no deviation or differentiation between “who I were,” what I say, and what I do.  However, because I was living contrary to who God created me to be, I was living a life of personal compromise.  Unfortunately, this life of compromise was causing internal conflict which consequently produced external hell – conflict in my fellowship with others (the quality of my relationships).  Now as I reflect for inner peace, I believe God drew the line of demarcation; it was the God-appointed time for me to finally live.

Purpose is Your W.O.R.K., and Your W.O.R.K is Your Worship!

It is important for all of us to remember that each and every one that is earthed into time was and is born for a purpose.  This divine assignment has our names written on it.  No one else can fulfill the purpose (divine assignment) we were earthed to accomplish.  In our place of purpose we re-discover our w.o.r.k. (wonderful opportunity to represent the King).  Subsequently our w.o.r.k. is our worship – the return or profit God desires to experience (John 4:23, 24).  Therefore when we choose to live a life of personal compromise and merely exist, we are robbing God of a worship experience.  We are depriving God of an opportunity to enjoy the manifestation of the Truth of who we were in His Mind before we were earthed into time.  In essence, we are defrauding and cheating Him!  Oh…what a powerful, revolutionary thought to ponder.
On that Fall 2008 day, the choice to live was up to me.  God had made me an offer. However, I ultimately had to willingly accept the opportunity to live.  I could have continued to exist in the misery of what I had always known, for I had become conditioned to the pain.  I had learned how to manage the misery.  However, truly the misery I was experiencing finally outweighed any fear that was hindering me from moving forward into the freedom of tomorrow’s possibilities.
Therefore, if you have been living a life of personal compromise and experiencing internal conflict, know that the external hell you are encountering is heaven exposing lessons you need to learn.  Stop selling yourself short by remaining content in the complacency of compromise.  You don’t want to end up right where you’ve always been.  Take a leap of faith in pursuit of purpose.  God deserves a return or profit on His investment.  He deserves the Truth of You.  And so do YOU!

Admit, Confront, and Deal! by Julianne Pearson

A few years ago, I heard of an interesting conversation a mature daughter had with her father.  After a few moments of dialogue, the daughter laughingly told her father, “Dad, you’ve got issues.”  And without much thought, her father retorted, “Leave me and my issues alone!”
The reason I found this conversation to be interesting, is because I became engaged at the father’s response … “Leave me and my issues alone!”  I was amazed that this older gentleman thought that he and his issues could actually be “left alone” or remain in an isolated condition – separate from his relationship with his daughter.  What was once interesting became a troubling thought.  How many others believe the same thing?  How many others behave as an island, dismissing the undeniable truth that their actions affect more than just themselves?  How many have unaddressed hurts and wounds of the past that are causing them to behave in a manner that is hurtful and potentially destructive to those they are in relationship with, which adversely affects their fellowship (quality of their relationship)?  How many?  Absolutely too many!
I must confess, at one point in my life, I was one of the many who had not taken the appropriate time or measures to tend to the wounds of my soul (mind and emotions).  Unfortunately, everyone I was in relationship with was subject to the soul wounds of my past that continued to bleed in my present.  Finally after years of contaminated relationships, I chose to come to the light and allow the air of Truth to begin my healing process.  I am hopeful that if you have been ignorant (unknowledgeable) or “stuck on stupid” (stubborn to acknowledge) to how your issues are affecting others – especially those you claim to love – you will begin to admit, confront, and deal with the why in you – the reasons behind your behavior.   Although the reasons for your behavior may be valid, no longer should they be used as excuses for you to remain the same.

Someone is Dealing with the Why in You Everyday!

With the revelation I currently possess, discovering the why in you begins with admitacknowledge and be honest – about the true condition of your soul (mind and emotions) which determine your behavior.  Unfortunately for most, this is the most difficult step to take.  Many people prefer to live in a state of denial and delusion than face the constructive pain of suffering that often accompanies truth.  There is an adage that states, “Admittance is half the battle.”  This is so true!  Therefore, by giving yourself the freedom to acknowledge and be honest about how certain events have affected and infected you, you are giving yourself the privilege to move beyond the prison walls of yesterday into the liberating possibilities of tomorrow.  This can only be accomplished void of any personal guilt or condemnation.  Being honest is therapeutic.  There is extreme healing in honesty alone.
Next, it’s time to confront – actively address and challenge – those faulty mindsets and paradigms (belief systems) which have been influencing your behavior.  Since no action is void of an associating thought and/or emotion, it is in this stage that you are getting to the heart motive behind your actions.  This is a step of deep self-discovery, finding out why you are doing what you’re doing – the reasons behind the actions.  Yes, while you actively address and challenge the thoughts and feelings that influence your behavior, you must continually give yourself permission to be honest.  Remember your perception is your reality and your feelings are always valid; however, the manner in which your thoughts and feelings are expressed may still be destructive, damaging, and hurt-full to you and those you are in relationship with.
Finally, after you have taken the bold step to admit and the challenging step to confront, it’s now time to dealtake action with diligence by thinking for a change.  As you continue to discover the why in you, those faulty mindsets and paradigms (belief systems) must be replaced with thinking patterns that are constructed from a place of healing and no longer rooted in pain.  Unbeknownst to most, dealing with you is a life-long process that requires acute self-awareness.  Choosing to remain ignorant (unknowledgeable) or “stuck on stupid” (stubborn to acknowledge) to your issues will be detrimental to your health and well-being.  Without a personal healing initiative, every relationship you engage in will be at risk.
Similar to a vehicle that requires periodic tune-ups and front-end alignments to drive properly on the road, so do we in order to properly live this walk called life.  As long as we have breath in our bodies there will be the need for emotional and mental re-alignments to Truth and wholeness.  Refusing to admit, confront, and deal with the why in you causes for others to continually be exposed to the infectious contaminants of your soul (mind and emotions).  That just isn’t right! That just isn’t fair!  You and your issues can’t be left alone.  Someone is dealing with the why in you every single day.  Starting today, why don’t you?
