It’s
almost summer time! We’ve endured almost two entire seasons since we’ve checked
in with each other. I am hopeful you
have taken the opportunity to work off “the holiday pounds” as well as staying
fully committed to your New Year’s promises.
For me, over the past five months I’ve had the privilege of working out
with Tony Horton the “10 Minute Trainer” as well as Sean T whose work out I
discovered truly fits its name–“Insanity.”
Although
I was experiencing some desired results, I was no longer enjoying my exercising
regimen. Over the past month, I
conveniently found reasons not to exercise. Therefore, I decided to treat myself and go
back to running a few times per week. For
the very first time this year, with IPod in hand and pedometer on hip, I headed
outside with joy in my heart. Unfortunately,
after fifteen minutes or so, I had two uninvited running partners–two strange,
unleashed dogs.
To
say I was startled by the panting pit-bull mixed four legged creature running
up behind me is an understatement. After
the initial shock, instinctively I turned to face the dog and while running
backwards I pointed my finger in its face and said, “In the Name of Jesus!” The dog trotted to the other side of my body
in an attempt to continue running with me.
And again, I pointed at the strange, unleashed dog and said, “In
The Name of Jesus!” Only then
did the dog slow its stride.
As
I surveyed my parameters, I noticed another dog I assumed to be the first dog’s
running buddy, farther beyond and coming my way. And with The Same Authority, I pointed my
finger at the second strange, unleashed dog and said, “In the Name of Jesus!” Immediately, that dog slowed its stride as
well. As I continued to run, I made sure
those two “uninvited running partners” knew that I was not playing with
them. I chose to watch my back for a
while, ensuring they got The Message. Sure enough, they decided to stop following
me and headed in another direction.
Because
I choose to live my life from a Prophetic Revelatory Perspective, I
knew that The Ultimate Truth Trainer was teaching me a valuable lesson in this
unexpected encounter. Now with a boost
of adrenaline, I continued my run with increased strength while meditating on The
Truth Heaven was exposing.
At The Name of Jesus every knee
should bow,
of things in heaven, and things
in earth, and things under the earth;
Philippians 2:10 KJV
Have
you ever felt like you had “uninvited running partners” trying to join you in your
race for l.i.f.e.–living
in full expression? I mean it’s
something that seems to hunt you down with every turn, invoking an incessant
foreboding–a fear that may never even become a reality. Yet you seem to find yourself looking over
your shoulder to make sure you’re in the clear due to its previous unexpected
past appearances.
For
me, these two strange, unleashed dogs were physical representations of several attacking
and yelping spiritual forces that have been chasing me for as long as I can
remember, i.e., the spirit of death, poverty, and perversion just to name a
few. Hidden deep within the recesses of
my belief system, I had become temporarily paralyzed with forebodings that
continued to victimize me by their destructive tactics. The repetitive losses I had incurred evoked a
spirit of intimidation that lingered longer than I had desired. Unfortunately, I had fallen for tricks of
satan, erroneously thinking I would be harassed by these strongholds for the
rest of my life on earth. However, in this
one moment in time when the potential threat of attack arrived, Heaven exposed
the lesson I needed to learn…
My Authority is In The
Name of Jesus!
That’s
right! My Authority to command a cease
and desist to every spirit of lack and limitation along with every devouring
and hindering spirit in my passionate pursuit to experience abundant life in
the here and now is In The Name of Jesus![1] Due to my ignorance, what I had tolerated
attempted to become permanent. However, great
strength lies in the Illumination of The Truth!
Therefore,
as Your Fellow Truth Training Partner, let me encourage you today! Whatever has been chasing you,
incessantly intimidating you, and causing you to be temporarily paralyzed in
fear from moving forward in faith; know full well you already have The
Authority in these five Power-Packed words…In The Name of Jesus! Even those two strange, unleashed dogs had to
recognize. They were living proof that everything
has to bow to The Name! Now, how awesome is that!
