Purpose: Your Place of Prosperity

Recently I’ve had the privilege of speaking with many individuals regarding their places of employment.  Instead of hearing about the joy of their work experiences, I have been stunned by the pervasive spirit that hovers over many during this dispensation of time.  To put it bluntly…they hate their jobs!  Most are miserable – terribly miserable.  And yet they remain in those positions basically prostituting themselves for the mighty dollar.
Purpose is Your Work, and Work is Your Worship!
Julianne Pearson

If by any chance you are one of those in the category of most, please don’t get offended and refuse to read the remaining portions of this blog.  The Truth is, God NEVER intended for you to be miserable and unhappy in your places of employment.  Your place of employment is designed by God to be your place of prosperity where you would experience the wonderful opportunity to re-present Him – The King.  Everything we do should give glory and honor to The King we re-present.  Therefore, in an effort to re-present Him well, I don’t believe miserable and unhappy should be descriptions of our experiences simply because those descriptions are totally contrary to the Nature of God Himself.
According to Dr. Myles Munroe is his book The Purpose and Power of Authority – Discovering the Power of Your Personal Domain, he states that the very areas that most people recognize as their hobbies is actually the very place of their prosperity.  This is the place where they are called, chosen, and ordained to operate effortlessly and enjoy the bountiful fruits of their work.
Being able to enjoy one’s work is truly a Gift from God.[i]  Therefore, in this Holiday Season, give yourself one of the most monumental gifts of all time – rediscover your purpose and get to W.O.R.K.!  I’m not telling you to quit your job – your temporary place of just over broke; however, at least begin your search for the Truth of You and start getting paid for what you would do for free.  It will be worth your time, worth your energy, and worth the compensation.  For it is that very place where you will find your prosperity – wholeness, completeness, and peace!

The Me I Must Be!

In 2007, my husband and I were rejoicing with an acquaintance regarding a recent financial breakthrough she and her husband experienced in the area of transportation.  A door opened for them to be able to trade in their car for an upgrade in style without adding substantial cost to their monthly budget.  As the celebratory conversation came to an end, these words flowed freely from her lips…“We’re just trying to be like you!”
At the time I was somewhat taken back by her comment.  I decided to operate in emotional intelligence and refrain from reacting inappropriately (meaning, I chose not to aggressively address her comment right then and there).  For the next few days, I decided to process her comment, and seek God for a Revelation regarding the heart motive behind…“We’re just trying to be like you!”  The reason for my expedition was because at the time of the conversation my husband and I were still driving the same vehicle we purchased in 1999.  Therefore, trying to be like me could not possibly be in relationship to material acquisitions.  Like a scuba diver, I decided to go beneath the superficiality of the comment in search of the motivating force behind the words.
In this dispensation of time, too often people rarely consider the story behind the glory of another individual’s life.  Meaning they have not taken the time to consider what it has cost the person to be who they have become and experience the life they live.  Additionally, most don’t even ponder whether they would be willing to make similar personal sacrifices in order to experience the glory they so admire.  For example, at the pinnacle of Michael Jordan’s basketball career, the moves he made on the court appeared effortless.  Although many desired to “be like Mike,” most were not willing to do what Jordan did to be one of the most phenomenal basketball players of our time.
Therefore, please understand being me is not all peaches and cream.  However, I decide daily to make substantial personal investments to possess what I experience.  There has been and continues to be countless hours of dedicated study and devotional time, frequent acts of voluntary self-sacrifice, numerous moments of self-control and self-restraint, and many, mini steps of willing obedience even when it places me in temporary disadvantage situations.  In no way am I implying that I have apprehended all that Christ Jesus saved me for; however, my life’s goal is to ever evolve into who He has created me to be and experience His Imagination – of me and for me – in the reality of my life.[i]
Today, I encourage you…BE YOU!  YOU are the only person Your Creator has authorized you to be.  For attempting to be like anyone else is spiritually illegal and a huge waste of time.  Wake up to the Truth of You and enjoy this journey called life.  Be a Designers Original; for the Plans God has for you are specifically designed.  Being anyone else is just a cheap copy, and you are worth way more than that!!

It’s STILL God’s Idea!

Enough is enough!  I’ve kept relatively silent, and now it’s time for me to speak out loud!  Why?  Because I’m angry as hell!  The current culture of society makes a joke out of it, discounting its value.  Celebrities jump in and out of it like changing clothes.    And sad to say, some of us who say we know its value have a very difficult time relaying that message to our minds so that we can make the necessary adjustments in our behavior to give life to our lip service.
What am I speaking of?  The Marital Union!  Now that I’ve got your full attention…let me explain.
My marriage and family experiences have been the places of my greatest pain!  Why?  Because I chose – even before I got married – to walk in rebellion to God’s Marital Design, and reaped a painful harvest for those seeds.  Subsequently, so did my husband and unfortunately, our children.  Therefore in 1998, after four years of marital hell, the misery I was experiencing far outweighed any fear, and I jumped heart first into God’s Plan – The Book of Kingdom Secrets – to having a successful marriage.

The Marital Union is a Spiritual Institution
That has Far-Reaching Spiritual Ramifications!

Because the marital union is a God-Idea not man’s idea, this legal agreement is a Spiritual Institution that has far-reaching spiritual ramifications.  Meaning, whether you believe it or not, choices one makes during the course of their single-life affects and at times infects their marital union before they even say, “I do!”  These far-reaching spiritual ramifications don’t even stay within the time span of our lifetimes.  Honestly, there were issues I suffered within my own life, and subsequently my marriage, because of the choices my ancestors made – fornication, adultery, pornography, and lying, to name a few.  Therefore, not honoring and valuing the spiritual institution of marriage – even before you say, “I do” is very unwise and personally and generationally destructive.
With the Revelation I have now, please let me share with you the key areas one must consider before entering (or after they have entered) this weight of responsibility:
1.      Purpose – Proper Perspective
God is a God of Purpose.  Therefore, it is imperative for you to have a clear understanding of why you were earthed into time.  Not having a clear understanding of your Purpose for living is stupid!  (Don’t get mad at me; check out The Word – Ephesians 5:17 CEV).  Possessing an understanding of your Purpose establishes the necessary boundaries for who is or is not a suitable life partner.

2.      Partnership – Expanded Purpose with Your Partner
Similar to God having a Purpose for your life, He also has a Specific Purpose for your union.  Therefore, having a clear understanding of who you were in the Mind of God before you were earthed into time, equips you with the relational tool that will help you distinguish the heroes from the zeros.  Whatever skills, talents, abilities, and gifts you possess, they are designed to be an asset in the Purpose (vision and mission) of your prospective partner, and vice versa.

3.      Plan – Proper Performance (Execution)
Unless God is in the building of your marriage, your labor is not going to yield anything of eternal value (Psalm 127:1b).  Because God is a God of Purpose, only those things that are accomplished in the Name of Purpose is what’s going to last (1 Corinthians 3:11-15).  God has a Path already prepared for you and your marital union which leads to the good life that’s already made ready for you to live (Ephesians 2:10).  This eliminates unnecessary pain!

4.      Place – Proper Position
As you gain a proper perspective of who you were while coming into agreement with the power of partnership and God’s Plans for your life and your marriage, you will then be positioned to experience the Place of Prosperity where God’s Imagination of you and for you becomes a reality to your natural senses.  It is in this Place that you will experience true rest reflecting eternal secrets in time!  Every single day you are happily wed, it will be work a wonderful opportunity to re-present The King!

In conclusion, I am hopeful this Revelation has arrested some faulty mindsets, causing you to take pause.  Regardless of the recent public poor and downright pitiful re-presentations of marriage, the marital union possesses great eternal value because it’s STILL God’s Idea!
If you’re like me, and you started all wrong…I’m living proof that you aren’t obligated to continue down that same path of utter destruction.  Make a decision and take the faith steps necessary to get on the Path of Purpose for you and your marriage.  Your spouse will thank you.  Your children and children’s children will bless you.  All the while, Heaven will applaud you!  Now that sounds like bliss to me!

Belief Systems Indentified

One morning my day started out like any other; however, it definitely didn’t end that way.  This particular morning while making my daily declarations and decrees, I had an epiphany.  There was one decree in particular that I would say very often, “I am debt free!”  You see, I had gained the understanding that God desires for us to be the lenders and not the borrowers.[1]  I mentally embraced the Truth that as long as I was borrowing, I would be a servant to the lenders, and I was no longer content to remain in a “slave status”.  Therefore, I was trying to get out of that predicament as soon as possible and subsequently was putting my mouth to some serious calisthenics.
As I was professing, declaring, and decreeing the Holy Spirit whispered ever so softly…
Juli, your belief system is not what you say; but what you do.”

I took pause – literally.  I knew it was a Divine Revelation from the Lord because I had never heard anything like that before.  After some time of reflection for inner peace, I began to embrace wholeheartedly the essence of this Revelation.  Although I was giving lip service to what I said I believed, my life did not reflect what my mouth was professing.  Therefore, I was not walking in spiritual integrity (personal agreement) and lacked the authority that was necessary for that declaration/decree to become a reality to my natural senses.  Unfortunately, there was no corresponding action to verify I had acknowledged in my heart what I knew to be true in my head.
It was at that moment that I began to realize I was a joke to the opposing forces in my life which was preventing my progress in the realization of my confession!  This honest observation about the true condition of my soul (mind, emotions, and will) revealed I was living a life of contradiction – living a lie, if you will.  Saying one thing and doing another caused me to lack the authority that is necessary to effect Kingdom change in my life.
Again, our belief system is not what we say; but what we do!  I am hopeful my confession provokes you to accurately identify your own belief systems.  As I heard an individual once say, “Healing power only exists when one’s actions correspond with their words!”  When we experience spiritual integrity by coming into active agreement with our confessions, we then can expect the manifestation of divine transformations in our lives, homes, communities, state, country, and eventually beyond.  What a wonderful world it would be!!

Honesty: The Healing Agent of Transformation

Break the silence of your past to begin a sound future.
For isolation and suppression are very toxic.
Al Pearson

This past weekend, I personally came into a greater understanding and deeper appreciation for Honesty which I call “The Healing Agent of Transformation.”  Too often in life many choose to remain burden by the weight of their past experiences that become a feeding ground for toxic waste such as fear, shame, regret, condemnation, and guilt, to name a few.  Please know that these waste materials can only stay concealed for a certain length of time.  Eventually somehow and someway, everything you have suppressed in your emotions will find its way to the surface of your life.  Although you may be verbally silent, your actions will speak very loud for you instead.
With this LĪVE Moment I’ve come to set someone free!  Free from the incessant need to cover up, hide, isolate, and live life as if it is a perpetual masquerade ball.  The first step into your season of change that serves as the catalyst for living a transformed life is being honest with yourself!
One of the definitions I truly appreciate for the word honest is “freedom from fraud”.  Therefore, release yourself from the sin of self-deception.  This is pivotal to living a life of freedom from the toxicities of your past.  Willingly walking in self-deception is the road to greater degrees of darkness and confusion.  We all need some form of light in order to walk or even drive in the dark.  Therefore, your walk in the Light of Truth can begin by you simply being honest with yourself.

We can only give someone something we possess.

Additionally, our relationships are established on the foundation of Truth when we individually awaken to the true condition of our own souls (mind, emotions, and will).  Subsequently, it’s imperative for us to stop looking out of the window with the false expectation that the circumstances of our lives would be better if everyone else involved in our life would change.  A life of transformation is predicated upon our willingness to look in the mirror and begin the transformation process by activating the catalyst of change within ourselves first!
As Coach Motivator Al Pearson states, “Transformation is the highest form of change.”  So today, I challenge you to begin stretching to the point of no return by facing a sometimes difficult dose of honesty.  Dismiss the fear that looms over your head!  Although a dose of honesty may initially be uncomfortable and downright painful, these fleeting moments of personal affliction cannot even compare to the lasting joy of personal freedom that lies on the other side.  Always remember:  “Honesty is your friend.*  And similar to a mirror, a true friend will never lie to you!
